Maori Poutama panels

Two full-sized photography backdrops in a poutama pattern filled with over 700 crosses were made to order for our client.

Working on the Maori-inspired art was surely a fun project and we pushed the CNC router to its limits. 10 hours of continuous cutting and routing time, 5 for each panel surely gave the router a run for its money.

Here we have marine-grade ply for outstanding weather resistance coated in marine-grade varnish to improve the lifespan of this unique piece. The structures are reinforced with a hidden frame for a 'frameless' effect.

Custom-made clock

This huge scale wooden 600mm diameter clock was made on request for our client's office.

The clock base is primarily 18mm plywood with decorative black acrylic inlays. These acrylic inlays are 10mm thick cast acrylic which provides a long-lasting durable clockface. The incorporation of the New Zealand country motif celebrates the use of locally obtained and manufactured sustainable wood products sourced sustainably, and the locally owned and operated 122Nord.

The unique layout of the numbering and the 300mm clock arms out of mahogany and brass draw the eye to the clock and make for an interesting centerpiece.

Foam insert

Need to protect your valuables? Do you have some sensitive equipment that needs extra padding? With our precision laser cutter, we can provide your belongings with a safe place to rest.

Precision cut openings for even the most complex of equipment provide a stable and safe space during transport. We use high-density foam inserts in a variety of thicknesses and glued together to provide an accurate 3D negative.

Send us your equipment for a 3D scan for the best results, or provide a detailed schematic from which the negative can be produced.

In this project, we've created a customized box with a precisely cut foam insert to protect expensive and sensitive tools.

Geometric headboard

CNC machines are capable of creating stunning, intricate patterns on wooden headboards, bringing a sense of artistic flair to any bedroom.

This awe-inspiring design was created from an 18mm ply and 5mm MDF backing board to create a two-tone and rigid piece of wall art. The headboard is subsequently supported by floor-standing wood supports, affixed to the bed base. The headboard can also be designed to be wall-hanging if required.
