At 122Nord, we’re evolving the way we make things.

Our workshop combines modern CNC and laser technology with our passion for natural timber — creating products that are made with purpose, built to last and connected to the character of the material.
We’re particularly passionate about working with New Zealand native timbers, reclaimed wood and other responsibly sourced materials whenever they’re right for the project.

01

Why timber?

Every piece of timber has its own story.
The grain, colour, texture and imperfections make every product different. Rather than treating wood simply as a raw material, we want to preserve and celebrate those characteristics in the things we make.
We use modern digital fabrication to work with timber precisely while still allowing the material itself to be the hero.

02

Making better use of what already exists

Sustainability isn’t just a label we want to put on our products.
For us, it’s about making better choices in the workshop.
Where possible, we look for opportunities to use:

  • Reclaimed and salvaged timber
  • New Zealand native timbers
  • Locally sourced wood
  • Offcuts and smaller pieces that might otherwise go to waste
  • Durable materials and designs intended to be used for years

Sometimes the most sustainable piece of timber is the one that already exists.

03

From ideas to products

Our background is in CNC manufacturing, laser engraving and product prototyping.
That technology is still an important part of what we do — but we’re increasingly conscious about the materials we use and recommend, rather than simply what the machines can produce.
We work with businesses to develop:

  • Custom awards & trophies
  • Branded products
  • Product prototypes
  • Small-batch products
  • Māori and New Zealand-inspired pieces
  • Furniture & interior features
  • Custom timber components

From an idea or sketch to a finished product, we can help turn your concept into something real.

04

A different way of making

We’re not trying to make everything from timber.
We’re trying to make better choices about what we make, what we make it from, and how long it will last.
That’s the direction we’re heading.
Natural materials. Modern technology. Made with purpose.
